Use of Equipment

 

Chair

Adjust height of chair so that when you sit upright, your shoulders are relaxed, your arms are

by your side and the keyboard is at or below the level of your elbows. Your forearms should be

horizontal and wrists straight for keyboard use.

Adjust the height of the back support so the convex curve supports your lumbar spine

approximately at the belt line level).

Adjust the depth (forwards/backwards) of the backrest so that you feel comfortable sitting

upright while you work.

 

Monitor

Position directly in front of your keyboard.

Top of monitor at eye level.

At arm’s length distance

 

Keyboard

At or below elbow level.

Allow sufficient space on desk to rest your wrists and hands during pauses.

 

Document Holder

Arrange adjacent to the screen

 

Desktop Layout

Arrange mouse/mouse pad within comfortable reach.

Avoid asymmetrical, unbalanced positions.
